Dear
Giles Villiers Grimston,
Please take note that the Transnet Port Authorities only grant a 3 to 4-day window wherein they allow us to take the container into the port (before the vessel sails based on their appointed dates), called the stack dates. These dates stay estimated/provisional up until +/- 1 to 2 days before the actual 'opening stack date', whereby it then becomes firm/fixed, meaning it will no longer change, and we can bring the container in, but up until that point it could, and does, still change (sometimes by up to 3 weeks)..
We would therefore like to request that you please allow some flexibility as far as the schedule is concerned, as our planning is completely dependent on the above factor.
Understand what’s next
- Once loaded the container will be sealed on site with a Unique Seal Number only to be broken at the final destination of delivery (unless a shuttle vehicle is involved)
- When the stacks become firm the container will be taken into the Harbour and stacked at the terminal until it is loaded onboard the appropriate vessel.
- The vessel will set sail approximately 7 days thereafter and a certified true copy of the documents will be produced.
- At all times you will receive operational emails containing details of the shipment, so please add exports1@boslogisticsrsa.com to your contact list to avoid important emails falling into your spam.
Deadlines:
- Fumigation is mandatory on all raw wood materials and crated items. We require 24 hours prior to loading cargo for fumigation to set.
