Very Important!!!

Before 2019, returning Lebanese used to be exempted from Paying duty and taxes in Lebanon, after this year all shipments are subject to Duty and Taxes.

Duty and Taxes: (Based on C&F Value)

Every 1 KG is valued as USD 3.00 to Customs.

Duty and Taxes will be 15% + 11% VAT

Security Fees will be: 3% + 11% VAT (11% on the 3%)

 

If client could not get Job Letter, Entry Stamp at Airport, Copy of Residency at Origin Country, Duty will be

calculated as 45% + 11% VAT

-          Residency Authentication letter from the local Magistrate

-          Packing List

-          Diplomatic ID (MOFA ID) – only issued after 2 – 3 Weeks from client’s arrival to Beirut

-          Customs Declaration with MOFA Approval

-          Vehicle Title and/or Vehicle export permit/Trip ticket

Diplomatic procedures:

-          Client should be in Lebanon and already obtained is MOFA Card before shipment departure to avoid storage or demurrage.

-          After obtaining MOFA ID, BL/AWB Draft is required to advise the Embassy to secure needful exemption MOFA Approval on the Customs Declaration.

-          Once MOFA Approval is in hands you can proceed with shipment.

-          After shipment arrival, we need to secure the delivery order and forward documents to the higher council.

-          As the Higher Council if part of the government, some delays might incur but usually approval is granted within 3 – 5 Working Days.

-          Following the approval, we can start clearance.

-          Clearance Time Frame: 2 – 3 Working Days after getting all of above approvals

 

*If a vehicle is included it should be noted on the customs declaration and NOT only the BL to avoid delays.

Vehicle Clearance:

Vehicle Customs Duty is based on Customs Evaluation

1)Car(s) will pay customs duties plus VAT as per Lebanese Customs Tariff Code and are allowed importation into Beirut if manufactured for less than 8 years.

2) Motorcycles should be maximum 3 Years old, and at least + 125 cc in order to be imported.

3)Customs consider Husband and Wife as ONE entity. (One Vehicle is allowed)

 

Vehicle under Temporary Importation:

Boats:

Please check with us under case by case mode.

 

Prohibited Items:

All kinds of firearms, weapons, drugs, alcohol and pornographic materials.

 

Special License:

All kinds of phones (including wireless), fax machines, receivers and satellite dishes are inspected by both Ministries of Telecommunication and Defense PRIOR to delivery of shipment and license requires extra 3-5 working days to obtain i.e. Demurrage Charges on the container will be incurred.  We recommend not including above in the HHG/PE shipments.
