For Seafreight Shipments
Rates Include:
• Destination customs clearance, payment of Kampala terminal handling fees
• Offloading, unpacking, set-up, removal of debris – same day
• Turn in of empty container – Kampala Terminal
Rates Exclude:
• Storage and demurrage charges, payments in transit (if any)
• Taxes, duties – if any, to be passed on to client as assessed
• Delivery to second residence or abnormal access
• Hazardous, perishable or out of gauge shipments
• Long carry beyond 50 meters, stair carry above 2nd floor, outside elevator
Importation Regulations and Requirements
1. Ministry of Foreign Affairs clearance for Diplomatic Shipments.
2. Expatriates should have Uganda work permit / Returning citizens should have proof of having lived outside the country for at least a year.
3. Keys for locked cases/trunks for non-diplomatic shipments.
4. Client’s Tax Identification Number (Uganda TIN number).
5. Consignee must be resident in Uganda at the time of arrival of goods.
6. Packing list/invoice written in English with values in US dollars per item.
7. Seaway bill and packing list with values per item at least two weeks before ship docks Mombasa port.
For Airfreight Shipments
Destination Rates Include:
• Acceptance/receipt of consignment at Entebbe Airport
• Settlement of terminal handling fees at $0.15/kg
• Local documentation and customs clearance, delivery to residence within Kampala/Entebbe city limits
• Unpacking/set-up and removal of debris – same day (if required)
Excludes:
• Airport storage and demurrage at $0.05/kg after three free days
• Taxes/duties – if any, delivery to second residence or abnormal access
• Insurance – should be obtained at point of origin; hazardous, perishable or out of gauge shipments
Vehicle/Motorcycle Importation Requirements
8. Vehicles/motorcycles must not be more than 15 years old from the date of shipping.
9. A packing list must be provided, including the vehicle with values listed in US dollars per item.
10. Car/motorcycle de-registration book is required.
11. Vehicles/motorcycles may be subject to Interpol verification at the consignee’s cost to ensure they are not stolen prior to registration.
12. The number of items and vehicle details must appear on the Bill of Lading.
13. The seaway bill, registration/de-registration documents, and the packing list with values must be provided at least two weeks before the ship docks at Mombasa port.
14. The consignee must be in the country and available for a customs interview if deemed necessary by customs officials.
Importation Regulations and Requirements
15. Ministry of Foreign Affairs clearance for Diplomatic Shipments; work/residence permit for expatriates; proof of having lived outside the country for returning citizens.
16. Comprehensive packing inventory written in English, detailing values in USD.
17. Keys for locked cases/trunks (for non-diplomatic shipments).
18. Client’s Tax Identification Number (Uganda TIN number).
19. Client must be in the country before arrival of the shipment and ready to attend a customs interview.
