Demurrage and storage at port or airport of entry, Local charges of the Shipping Line, Taxes/duties, Handling of heavy bundles (piano, pool table safe boxes, etc), Second deliveries, Use of steps upper than a second level, Unpacking on saturdays, sundays and holidays, Hoisting, Installation of appliances, Parking permit must be processed by the client in the corresponding municipality, any traffic ticket must be paid by the client, Deconsolidation expenses, Aditional expenses in TCQ Terminal at Puerto Quetzal, The Stay of Transport has 03 free days, from the 4th day the transport will pay for stay transport US$.125.00 per day, depending the Shipping Line, Transport fee US$125.00, Demurrage of container, The container has 10 free days, from the 11th day will pay for demurrage from US$.100 to US$.125.00 per day, Handling in bonded warehouse, Overtime, Furniture assembly, Long carry, Storage and handling IN/OUT in our warehouse., Storage at Port Teminal, from the 6th day, the container will pay for storage US$.10.00 per day, Hanging pictures.

TAXES:

All shipment to Guatemala will pay taxes/duties and must be paid before the arrival of the shipment to the port of entry.

Once the taxes are paid the shipment is the shipment is freed by custom authorities.

Diplomats and international Organizations are exempted through diplomatic franchise.

Shipments are subject to inspection by Customs prior to release of the shipment.

SERVICE ITINERARY:

·         Approximate Customs Import process time from 5 to 7 business days

·         Unpacking in residence one or two business days, services with higher volume, some additional time.

Sea or land freight are subject to any change without notice as well as their departure itineraries and their routes.

Three Originals of the RATED B/L of the HHG (LCL or Maritime) or original of the RATED Air Waybill (Air), or charter letter CMR (terrestrial) one week before the arrival of the shipment

Original packing list in Excel format with its serial numbers and models of appliances

Full photocopy of the client's passport

Photocopy of the client's RTU/NIT (It is a requirement that applies to Guatemalan and foreign citizens)

Photocopy of Insurance Policy (If apply)

Original Car Title as Proof of Ownership and original commercial Invoice

RTU/NIT:

It is the personal tax identification number that each customer must obtain at the Ministry of Public Finance in Guatemala City.

It must be updated. If not, it will be rejected by the customs authorities.

Documents required for the process to obtain RTU/NIT:

1.        Original passport

2.        Full photocopy of passport

3. Electricity, water or telephone bill of the residence address in Guatemala

Application process:

1.        Present original passport and a complete photocopy of it

2.        Fill out the form and update the taxpayer information in the unified tax register.

3.        Submit an electricity, water or telephone bill showing the address of the residence in Guatemala

4.        If the client does not have an address in Guatemala, he can use the water or electricity bill of the Company that he comes

HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES & ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES:

For import and export of household items containing refrigerators, wine freezers and air conditioning, a License of entry must be issued.

To obtain the license, the agent must send us the following information:

·         Model

·         Type of refrigerant used

·         Year of production

Guatemala did not allow to enter appliances containing R11 and R12 gases

Appliances manufactured before the year 2,000 are subject to rejection.

Without a license, appliances may not be entered.

The process to obtain the License is 5 business days and is valid for 15 days after

Cost of Import License. US$.150.00

RECOMMENDATIONS:

Inform the customer not to use the original packaging material. The customs authorities will consider them as new.

DO NOT INCLUDE the following items otherwise the shipment may be confiscated: pornography, firearms (even if they are toys or are part of a collection), drugs, liquor / wine, food, species, medicine, cigars, new items (items with less than 6 months of use). Collection of knives, swords and dangerous products, etc.

Payment by check from a Local Bank or Bank Wire Transfer, which must be made in full before departure or arrival of the shipment. Transfer fee: US $ 50.00 for intermediary bank charges.
