All services proposed will be undertaken subject to the contract terms & conditions which are incorporated herein by reference and available upon request.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

·         Kindly note the THC, CFS / Port and Linear Fees mentioned above are applicable on all sea shipments coming to India. THC, CFS, Shipping / Airline charges are approximate only as they vary all the time. These charges will be payable at actuals if in excess of quoted rates. If we have to collect these charges directly from Consignee, then kindly mention this in the Pre-Alert. Else, it is assumed that these charges are to be billed to you.

·         THC is charged by liners for handling at port of discharge. This can be prepaid, but we recommend you not to prepay these charges as liner agents tend to charge it again in India and sorting out this matter causes delays during clearance.

·         CFS / Port fees are charged by port authorities for handling ground rent. This cannot be prepaid.

·         Liner Fees are charged by liners toward their delivery order, documentation, etc. This can be prepaid.

·         Shipper Presence in India is most at the time of shipment arrival and we need original passport for customs clearance.

CUSTOMS RULES & DUTY IMPLICATIONS ON HOUSEHOLD GOODS

The Government of India levies Customs duty on all the imports from the countries, this duty is assessed under two factors:

·         TR Eligibility
The Transferees should have stayed abroad minimum of 2 years and during the stay outside India their visit should not be more than 180 days.

Under TR eligibility, The duty applicable on electronic(TV& printer 38.5% and all other electronics will be considered at 16%) Duty will be applicable for new furniture’s in TR clearance as well and Music items will be charges under full duty. If there is more than one electronic product of the same category (apart from TV & Printer) it will be charges at 32% for the second product.

·         Non-TR Eligibility
The Transferees who have visited India more than 180 days during their stay abroad will come under Non-TR. Under this case the duty levied will be of 38.5% on all items except used clothes and books.

Note: The condition of compulsory one-year stays in India after claiming Transfer of Residence duty benefits has been removed and importers can now leave the country after claiming the TR concessions. Transfer of Residence can be obtained only once in Three years.
